HIP – High Impact Polystyrene
HIP (high impact polystyrene) is an opaque, white thermoplastic material. HIP provides a good balance of physical properties, making it an excellent choice for electrical components, models and prototypes, toys, appliances, and many other applications.
High impact polystyrene is easy to machine and form, and maintains its properties and performance in temperatures up to 180°F (82°C). HIP sheet can also be vacuum formed.
HIP surfaces can be painted, and the material is heat and electronically sealable. This material is non-toxic, odorless, and meets FDA standards.
HIP is commonly available in sheets, rods, and tubes. Online Plastics is a leading resource for high impact polystyrene sheet, with standard and custom sizes available to meet our customers’ unique requirements.
